+1 on the Shelta hats if you're not wearing a helmet with visor. I love the Osprey model (my old Tilley hat flew away doing foredeck in 12 kt breeze from behind me) |

Could it be the mast is too upright and I need to tilt it backwards/towards me to enable turning further.
