I've never understood the "5.0 rule". I've had countless days playing hard in excellent swell on a 6.X on the river, and ocean waves can be quite large in next to no wind.
Never planing is a Class III skunk, IMO ... a scenario I try very hard to avoid. I'd infinitely rather shovel wet snow, go to the gym, rotate my tires, or clean the garage. I sometimes -- for three minutes --envy people who enjoy slogging or eating liver, but I'll never be one of them.

Of course I think rig what ever you need to get on the water. Even if you never get on a plane.. Its all fun |

A pretty good explanation of why foiling was beyond your ability.

In light conditions, it always looks windier a couple of hundred yards from where you are. |

Greetings again.
All these terms are somewhat sarcastic.
Nuke and Puke is more violent version of "bob and blast" some of our
resident killer sailors call that "Technical." (a repurposed biker saying
which is code for almost unsailable)
Advise from the beach. I guess the nice version of this is something like
"In my humble opinion", or "for what it's worth". Usually used to mean
You really need to be out there doing it to make recommendations.
Chop Chop! Repurposed from it's initial " Do it right now and do it fast"
meaning. The nice definition is an extremely type A
individual. If an individual is insistent that you derig and get
out quickly so you won't miss more better fun somewhere else,
They're pretty Chop Chop!

How about a little more background on your contributions? I do not think I have heard the "Chop Chop" in relation to windsurfing.

Thanks Craig, That clears it up.
I was at a loss for Nuke & Puke. Now I know.
I had the 'used to mean' down for the "Advice from the Beach". Now I have the newer, updated meaning.
I was backwards on the "Chop Chop". I thought it was "Move it! Move it! Move it! Yer burning daylight!", but for getting rigged, suited up and out onto the water, not going to the next big thing.
So got it now. Thanks!

When you come in skunked, always deflect blame. "That tree is a big fat liar” or, “That flag is a big fat liar”. |
