Good effort! I might be driving south for ice after Sunday's storm...
This is pretty fun https://www.relive.cc/view/2082854973
I forgot to restart the GPS for some time and think I missed my fastest runs.

fox & others: please post some ice or snow sailing photos or videos in the "Windsurfing PHOTOS Thread" in the "Windsurfing Discussion" forum. Remind others windsurfing rigs can produce joy & adrenaline year round.
iamjnelson: I need to also convert my Kahuna Creations Bombora for ice or snow sailing.

Hi Del, as you wish and I concur it is handling the rig, on the water, ice, or beach, that does it for me.

I have a never-been-mounted pair of 210cm Kneissl White Stars I'd "sell" for shipping, or free pick-up.

I have a windskier 380CS. You want to put long skis on it if possible. Jumping skis are ideal. The 380CS works both on clear ice as well as snow covered ice up to 6 inches deep, something that iceboards can't do. I installed small blades to the back of the skis to minimize spinout. If you don't do this you will skid upwind every time you sheet in the sail. I will send more details and pics later. I recommend you jump on this as these boards are extremely rare. They were imported from England of all places around 1984. I paid $200 for mine but it didn't come with skis or footstraps which I installed. I wouldn't pay more than $400 though, especially if the skis are less than 180cm long (you'll want to get longer ones). |
Just by way of introduction, I'm a cat sailor, not a windsurfer. But my wife is a skiing instructor who also used to windsurf, and back in the 80s I picked up a Windskier 380CS for her - it just resurfaced in a fall house cleanup. AfaIk, it's complete, and even has the instruction manual (it's kind of in rough shape - it got wet somewhere along the way and the pages suffered in unsticking them, but it's readable. I'll scan it.). Since I don't think it's too likely anyone around here is going to want to mess with it, it's up for sale (sail). It's also pretty heavy, so shipping it from Calgary (Canada) probably won't be cheap. But as previous poster indicated, they're incredibly rare. So please PM me if you're interested
