Also, I rember seeing Olivier Matte doing doubles on port tack at the Hatch in the late 1990’s.
Here’s a video of Olivier Matte back home in Quebec a few years later:

I tried some doubles on port tack in the late 90’s. Always super painful, and never sailed away from any.
I’m sure that Kor Harrison, Pascal Hardy and Mark Williamson got around on a few doubles in the 1990’s, but I don’t know if anyone would have any video.

Thank you Spencer.Berry for adding Olivier Matte (another awesome raycyr video from the east!), Kor Harrison, Pascal Hardy, Mark Williamson, and yourself (yeah buddy!!!) to the Gorge Doubles Legends Honor List!
Tony's huge end-over doubles that you provided make me think of Robert Teriitehau's doubles in PWA 1999. Robert: "... when I look to see on my way it's possible I do it. I love this kind of feeling... this feeling is so strong. On my way I start to see what's the meaning also... everything you do you have to get hurt to learn... (showing his scars) This one I was in Gran Canaria. When I land by the (double) forward loop I descend, and my feet go inside the board. When I pull out... a piece of meat." Remember Vidar (or his brother?) Jensen's one handed end over doubles at Pozo in 60 knots? Sick!
The Sgt. Loop song in the first video you provided:
"His name is Sgt. Loop. He drives a brick red duster. He lives on beer and pizza. But when it's 3.0s, he'll spin a big one. End over. (something-something), he'll throw a double. In your face. Ha ha! That's why they call him Sgt. Loop."
Also, from your second Sgt. Loop video,
Q: "What's it take to be a gorge sailor Tony?"
Tony: "Just have balls. Don't leave 'em on the beach, take 'em with ya." "Hold on tight and spin like hell." "Woo"
Did I just learn where Ric Flair got his Woo from?!?
Dave Russell going off!
Honor to the legends!
Anyone know if Martin Van Geenhoven and Eric Girard should be added to this gorge doubles list? Remember the beautiful photos of Eric sailing with icebergs and a Narwhal in Newfoundland (story at https://u-ride.net/news-windsurf/trip-windsurf-terre-neuve-avec-eric-girard.html)?
Thanks. Have a nice day!
