A lot of monkey jibes in that video. Regular jibes don't work when moving much faster than the wind.
Well, we called them monkey jibes, I see Royn is calling it a donkey jibe? And calling what I thought was an Essex a monkey jibe... http://www.roynbartholdi.com/windsurfing/maneuver-descriptions Maybe someone with a tricktionary can set me straight.

Every chance we get! That was a great day with nearly perfect conditions and a large turnout. The short track figure 8 racing around the cones gets pretty thrilling.
It looks like we could get a stretch of good ice sailing starting later this week.

atlas.wave55 expressed a quite reasonable idea: "Don't think I would use any of my newer race sails though wouldn't monofilm be pritty brittle in low temps." . But, in my experience monofilm is not bothered by temperatures down to 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Most of my winter sailing is done between 20 F and 0 F.
In my winter sailing on hard packed snow or ice (or parking lots) the most damaging parts for the sails is the scraping on the hard surface.

This is a great thread. I put together an ice board last year using a extra long skateboard, a Kahuna Creations 59” Bombora with a Frebord 12” truck for the rear and standard skateboard truck in front with blades I got from a guy moving to Florida. Nice thing is I can put wheels on it and wind skate as well.
I went a few times to lake Quannapowitt last Winter with a local crew there, though missed the windy Tuesday with black ice before Christmas and then it warmed up (though then can windsurf!). Hoping to get on ice again soon, it is addicting.
